Join us on Zoom to learn about our unique program empowering kids to optimize their own learning, social and emotional outcomes through neuroscience-driven innovations and project-based learning!
Cajal Academy is a small, innovative new special education school offering both the intellectually-stimulating academic programming and services by expert licensed therapists, so families don’t have to choose between the challenge and the support their kids need. The core of our program is a multi-disciplinary team led by an internationally-recognized neuropsychologist. Together, we are creating innovative new approaches leveraging modern neuroscientific research to address children’s learning, social, emotional and physio differences. Key elements of our program include:
multi-disciplinary project-based learning developing the critical thinking, collaboration and executive function skills needed for 21st century success
highly-individualized, data-driven programs that build up children’s low-lying skills to address their areas of difference—not just accommodate them
small group classes with inquiry-based peer learning
embedded, robust social-emotional curriculum with coaching in self-regulation and growth mindset
integrated OT, PT, counseling, executive function coaching and social skills development from PhD-level psychologist and neuropsychologist
tight-knit community of kids who “get it,” with a carefully-fostered culture of sharing and supporting each others’ challenges
Cajal Academy serves children in grades K-12 who have fluid and/or verbal reasoning skills in the “very high” to “superior” ranges, including twice exceptional children and their bright and gifted typically-developing peers. We support kids with complex profiles, including learning, social, emotional, sensory, neuro-diverse and other neurophsyiological differences. We also provide the first program in the world for children with connective tissue disorders, dysautonomia, mast cell activation syndrome and other complex chronic medical conditions having variable impacts on a child’s availability for learning, social and emotional experiences.
