Open House for 2022-23 School Year Placements

We have added a special additional Open House for families who are still seeking a fall placement, or who may be interested in a mid-year placement, should enrollment permit.

Cajal Academy is an innovative new school in Westport, CT for bright and intellectually-gifted kids, with a range of programming levels that includes expert programs to address a range of special education needs.

Our innovative model was designed by a recognized neuropsychologist and an expert physio team, modernizing education to match current neuroscientific research. We work with the data in each child’s profile to identify their unique strengths and needs. Then we tailor their programs to build up the cross-cutting skills holding them back while giving them the strategies they need to independently self-monitor, self-manage and self-advocate for their needs.

Academically, our students work together to develop solutions to real world problems that require them to engage deeply with our rigorous, standards-based curriculum. This puts the emphasis on the critical thinking skills where our students excel, while giving “no ceiling” learning opportunities.

Most importantly, our students are part of a nurturing, mixed age community, in which they learn the neuroscience necessary to understand each others’ differences and celebrate each others’ successes.

We relocated our school to a larger facility this spring in order to open up new enrollment for our fall program. Come see our new space, learn about the program and explore whether we might be a good fit for your child!
