This special event is a unique opportunity for you and your child to learn about Cajal Academy at the same time!

Our Shadow Day events are a unique opportunity for bright, gifted and twice exceptional students to find out more about Cajal Academy, by experiencing much of what makes our program unique for themselves. They’ll learn about the science of learning, experience how we use movement to teach academic concepts (not just to provide a break between them), meet our nurturing older students and engage in a mini project-based learning activity together with their peers.

Meanwhile, you will have the opportunity to learn about our program, tour our beautiful new facility and meet other parents of gifted and twice exceptional kids who are considering our kindergarten program for the 20025-26 school year.

Cajal Academy is an inclusive and innovative school for bright and gifted kids who have high analytical reasoning skills, including kids who have a range of special education needs. Students who will thrive in our program tend to see the world differently, enjoy puzzling through interesting problems and have strong critical and/or creative thinking skills. Our program integrates expertise to address learning, social, emotional, executive function, sensory processing, complex medical conditions and other special education needs, utilizing a trauma-informed approach.

This free trial experience is open to families considering a placement in Cajal Academy’s inaugural kindergarten class for the 2025-26 school year; all students must be rising kindergarteners who will be at least 5 years old by the time of enrollment and are fully toilet-trained. All parents must remain on-site, and participate in our parent information session and tour.
